Thanks a lot...
Just when my brain decided it was time to "think" about losing the baby weight- Mc Donals had to go and put their Big Macs on sale 2 for $3.00! The problem is, I don't eat just 1- that's right, I eat both of them, and in no time let me tell you. I've always had the stomach of a teenaged boy, but these days sporting the 200 extra pounds from the pregnancy and the extra 100 from 3 years ago when Willow was born, isn't that cute anymore, and I know it. So, just when I was going to start a super great morning exercise plan- it had to get ruined, by McDonalds. The last time they ran this sale years ago I ate close to 20 of them. And I timed myself for my friend Shane who (at the time) couldn't believe I could be thin and eat the way I did. Darn you... and darn my husband who is so sweet to go out and pick them up for me, like I'm still pregnant or something!
The Garden.
Every year I try to grow a garden, but every year I'm pregnant, nursing, or the cats ruin it. I try, I really do, but this year I admit- I didn't care. All I was focusing on this Summer was getting the baby out of me. Plain and simple. I wanted tomatoes, but only 5% of me cared about any of it. I made the kids go out and water it, and then I forgot about it all together!I guess growing a baby this year is all I could handle! Here are the few beauties the girls picked yesterday.
One of my favorite things...
One of my ALL TIME favorite things in the world, is opening up my windows and letting in the fresh air. Especially when there is a little chill in the air like this morning. It makes my heart happy to let in the new and think that it's taking the smelly diapers and 10 year old foot stink right out! Thank you Fall for approaching, I love you...

Canning Update...
This year was a little different with a newborn, so I lowered my expectations and only did as much as I wanted to. when I felt like stopping, I did. When I wanted to be done, I quit- so it wasn't an overwhelming year! So far I I've done 40 quarts of peaches and 55 pints (or smaller) of triple berry peach jam. (One batch is strawberry, blackberry, pinapple peach jam!)There is nothing greater than looking at those beautiful jars when I walk in the kitchen, let me tell you! And being at the orchard is next to Heaven, I think. I am pretty easy to please... hopefully applesauce will be next!
Carnival...
We took the kids to another church carnival tonight that was in our area. As a church planning person, I know how nice it is when the community comes out and supports the event you are holding- plus it was a carnival and we knew the kids would have fun. They had yummy food, lots of games, church displays, crafts, face painting and bouncy houses. We stayed for close to 2 hours and everyone had a lot of fun.
What was she thinking?
99% of the time, I have no idea what is going through Grace's little head. One minute she's sweet, the next, a little pill- one minutes she's up, the next she's down, so it's no surprise when she draws on the baby's forhead for no apparent reason!
