Camping...
Last weekend when we were at Shane & Chelsea's for dinner, the boys started talking about a camping trip for this weekend. Todd & Isaac were planning to go camping and before I entered the room- it was pretty much set for us to go too. I checked our calendar later and moved a few things around so we could go, and we did! We went up to Donnelly for a few days and had a great time. I wish my sweet Andrea could have made it, but she had a zillion appointments she had to keep, so I was left with my husband, Todd (A navy seal), a 11 year old boy, 10 year old boy, 7 year old, 5 year old, 2 year old and a newborn out in the wilderness for the weekend. It was actually a great few days and we all had a blast. The baby did awesome and the kids played and caught frogs for 2 days straight. ( We wont talk about how many times they had to sanitize their hands! So gross!) We had fun roasting marshmallows, playing games, cooking on the stove, sitting around the fire telling silly stories, cutting fire wood, watching the bats come out at night, going to McCall for a few hours to walk around and play in the water, Tamarack to see the resort and enjoying the beautiful weather and mountains all around. The lake was pretty and it was nice and relaxing there. After 2 nights though of sleeping on the hard ground while nursing a baby all night, listening to Daisy and Trav snoring in our tent, Todd snoring in his tent, rain falling one night and crazy critters making strange sounds for hours, I was tired and ready to return to my bed and nice hot shower. It was a great weekend and we were not attacked by bears nor did we fall off any cliffs, so I was very much relieved. We hope to make this a yearly tradition now, seeing the kids play in the dirt and catch a 100 frogs made it all worth it!
McCall...
I had never been to McCall, so we drove over and spent a few hours walking around the Farmer's Market, playing in the water and sand, stopping at a few yard sales and relaxing in the sun. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. The water was amazing, the kids had so much fun playing and it was nice to get out of the woods for a little bit! (And yes, Willow stripped down to her panties!)
