Happy 6th B-day Daisy Mae...

Oh, my sweet Daisy, she almost makes my heart melt...
6 years ago I was planning my Costco trip with Andrea when I started having contractions. I REALLY love Costco & I really wanted to go, so I waited awhile to see if they would stop. After a hour of painful & VERY regular contractions, I called Andrea and told her I would have to skip our shopping trip and she should meet me at the hospital instead! We went in and spent the next 12 hours in labor. Daisy was by far my most painful birth experience, but by 2:00 AM she was with finally with us. Christy & Andrea kept their composure as she came out with the cord wrapped around her neck and not making a sound. It wasn't until later that they told me how scary that moment was. She was an amazing baby, terrific toddler and now the sweetest 6 year old ever.
She is growing into the sweetest little lady in the world. We called her "Tender Heart Bear" growing up because she was so sensetive. She still is to this day and all it takes is a stern look to correct her. She is an amazing big sister, she is always the first to come when I call or ask for help picking up. She adores school and is doing wonderful! She's beginning to read and I almost cried the other night when she read an entire book by herself! She is entering the: silly, talk- a- lot, loosing teeth stage and it's great. She LOVES to draw and color and is always making the prettiest pictures. She loves for me to sing "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" every night before bed which I think is crazy, but I do it anyway. Besides being a beautiful girl, she is so kind to everyone. She has a ton of friends at school, all the boys love to chase & kiss her. Those brown eyes and little smile will melt your heart every time. Happy 6th B-day sweet girl!!!

Mommy Time...

When our alarm goes off at 4:45 AM every morning, I want to cry. There never seems to be enough hours in the night! Why is that? Why do Mom's (and Dad's in our case)never get enough rest??? Oh, the questions I will have for God (Like: Child birth? Never ending laundry? Migrains? Feeling rested? Calories? Germs?)
Anyway, I get up every morning knowing I will have a few hours of "Mommy Time" before the kids wake up around 7:00. Granted, I have to wake up early for it, but I love it. I love sitting with my bowl of cereal in my bathrobe checking the blogs for deals, craft projects & checking up on friends. More than anything- it's QUIET! All I hear are my super slow fingers hitting the key board and the hum of the strangly loud computer in front of me. It is Heaven! But... this morning at 5:00 AM, Willow made a little cry, and I mean little!... (she was probably dreaming) and the next thing I know, Trav is carrying her to me, while I'm still trying to wake up!!! Really Babe? I love you, but you could have let her sleep! It was a very nice 15 minutes of snuggling with my baby, and she did go back down with zero fussing, so it all worked out- but that could have interfered horribly with my "Mommy Time." Gotta love husbands!

Blue & Gold Banquet...

Last night was Mr. Tristin's Blue & Gold Banquet for Scouts. He was in a skit & earned his Bobcat badge too, we were really proud of him! It was a really nice night and a lot of work went into it (Thank you Jana- you are the best!)
