My Great Grandmother's piano...

Last week A friend from church and Tristin drove up to Seattle to bring back my great Grandmother's piano. My Mom gave it to me when she moved last year. and my brother stored it in his garage until we could get it back here to Idaho. The kids are enjoying it- even Roman! I am so glad we get to keep it in the family and enjoy it at the same time! Thank you G-ma, Mom, Jake & Brother Murphy!!!

Operation Grace...

I stumbled across this little gem yesterday while organizing papers! Daisy wrote this about her sister. You might have to zoom in to read! Priceless...

Relish!

We went over to Gma's house Tuesday morning after we got the kids off to learn how to make relish! She let us use her grinder and away we went! Miss Willow grinded up 2 huge pots full of cucumbers, peppers and G-ma did the onions! I brought everything home, cooked it for 15 minutes and then processed them in my water bath for 15 minutes! Now we have 16 pints!! Thank you Sister Janes, Edith, Sue and whoever else gave me cucumbers that I cannot recall at this moment!!!

First day of school...

The kids are on their 3rd day of school and they are all enjoying it! I have had more anxiety with Tristin starting Middle school this year, but I'm finally breathing a little better since he is doing so well. I pray everyday they will make good choices, friends and learn to be kind and respectful people. I hope the influences of others will not carry them away to far away places. Enjoy 6th, 3rd and 1st grade my little ducklings.

Skate night!

The kids were given free skate passes as one of their treats for the Summer reading program, so we hopped over Monday night and let the kids have fun as their last Summer activity! They had a graat time and Iwas happy to see that Willow warmed up and had fun out there too!

Edith & Max's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party!

A year and a half ago, you might remember the post where I couldn't go back to sleep and Trav thought I was crazy for starting to plan his parents 50th- well the big event was on the 10th of this month and I think I may still be recovering! I had great friends who endured the past year of "50th" talk" as I tried to work on getting things put together. I had friends help with invites, setting up and taking down and I am so thankful for awesome friends who realized my vision was slightly larger than me and jumped in to rescue me! I adore Edith and Max. They are 2 of the most loving, generous, giving, selfless people I know and I wanted them to have a "moment" where it was finally about them. They aren't huge party people- but I didn't care- so many people love them and have been touched by their sweet hearts, that I knew we needed to honor them the best we could. When I started talking to Max forever ago about decorations, he tickled my heart when he said turquois was his favorite color! Oh, blessed man. They also collect bird houses so I knew I had to go with that as a theme and then I threw in the birds and bird cages, because it all went together. I thought things turned out really well. I wish I had another year to fancy it up even more, but doing anything with 5 kids is a treat and I simply ran out of time and energy- but I gave it all I could. They had a super turn out and it was wonderful to see so many siblings show up from all over! Idaho, Montana, Utah, California etc.. it was great! Family and friends were there and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves! I love you Edith & Max, Congratulations on 50 years!
